Guess How Much I Love You – Here, There and Everywhere

9781406345162

By: Sam McBratney

A wonderful picture book containing four stories from the creator of the classic Guess How Much I Love You. Little Nutbrown Hare is a little older now and loves to discover new places.

The Hiding Tree – he plays a game of hide and seek with Big Nutbrown Hare and overcomes a fear.

On Cloudy Mountain – teaches him the wisdom of listening to his elders.

The Far Field – he proves he can listen to the warnings of Big Nutbrown Hare.

Coming Home – a cute little story about Little Nutbrown Hare’s favourite place to be.

These are delightful little stories illustrated in the same way as the original, keeping the feeling of that book. It is a beautiful addition to the series.

Highly recommended.

Guess How Much I Love You – On Stage

Sometimes you want to tell someone just how much you love them. Little Nutbrown Hare feels this way and so he tries to tell Big Nutbrown Hare how he feels, Big Nutbrown Hare then tries to do the same. They very quickly discover that sometimes finding the right words just isn’t that easy.

This story is a perennial favourite and a modern classic for a reason. This is a simple yet stunningly beautiful picture book. The text is heartfelt and wonderfully descriptive as the two hares try to describe the depths of their feelings. The accompanying illustrations are perfectly paired with the text on both simplistic design and descriptive levels. A true classic and a must have for any bookshelf.

Illustrated by: Charles Fuge

Little Roo, Country Mouse and Quacker Duck decide to build a leaf mountain. It’s hard work so they start to play a game but at the end of it no-one is very happy. Little Roo’s mother comes along to see what is going on.

An adorable tale of fun, friendship and the discovery that everyone can be good at something.

Another wonderful pairing of McBratney and Fuge. I have said it before and will say it agin I love Charles Fuge’s illustrations. There are bright colours and wonderful expressions teamed with delightfully appealing text that contains a beautiful truth.
