Me and My Mum

By Alison Ritchie and Alison Edgson

Little Bear’s Mum is awesome. She can do so many things. She can roar and skate, do tricks and swim like a fish. She is also brave. The thing Little Bear thinks is best though is how she holds her cub tight. Little Bear wants to be just like Mummy Bear one day.

This is a charming and heartwarming story about the bond between mother and child. It reminds me of some of the things I’ve done with my girls and those precious moments we share when our children are young. The illustrations are beautiful, bringing warmth and softness to the story. A lovely book to share.

Mummy and Me

By: Emma Chichester Clark

Humber and his Mum do loads of fun stuff together; they play, garden, cook and read. Then one day Mum says she is too busy. Humber wants to help but Mum need to do these things alone and asks him to find something to do by himself. Then Humber comes up with an awesome idea, but will he get it ready by the time Mum is able to play?

This is an adorable story that is immediately recognisable as a slice of family life. It is funny, joyful and very heartwarming. The illustrations and text are simple and engaging. A perfect book to read when you can get your child to sit still long enough for you to enjoy one of those wonderful shared moments.
