By: Rick Riordan

Carter Kane is trying to track down a huge crocodilian monster that has started terrorising people. When he gets there he runs across another boy a bit older than he is, it turns out this is Percy Jackson. Together they battle this creature whilst trying to figure out just what the other one is. They seem to talk a similar language but the Egyptian and the Greek don’t quite gel.

This is only a short story. A little snippet of what it could be like if there ever was a mash up between two of his main characters. Percy and Carter discover they work well together even though their styles are very different. This is fast paced action story filled with moments of fun. I loved it. It reminded me just how much I love Riordan’s work and these characters.

The Son of Sobek

imagesOkay so here’s the Rick Riordan low down. He has written a Percy Jackson/Carter Kane crossover short story. AWESOME! Is all I have to say.

The problem is it will be available in the paperback release of Serpent’s Shadow, in the US, no news yet on Australia. The other problem is what if you’ve already bought the book? Apparently it will be available as a e-single, also no word yet on if it will be available in the regions. My guess it they will be simply because Rick Riordan is such a popular writer.

You can read an except here.
