Renowned, award winning and popular New Zealand children’s author Margaret Mahy has died at the age of 76.
Throughout her career she published more than 200 titles, and her books were translated into more than a dozen languages.
Mahy was the recipient of numerous honours and awards and the year she turned 70 she was awarded perhaps the most prestigious – the Hans Christian Andersen Award for her lasting contribution to children’s literature.
