Summer is turning to autumn in the forest. A golden leaf floats to the ground. Dormouse strikes his triangle and announces it is time for the lullaby of the forest to begin. Play quietly everyone for you don’t want to wake Mr Bear. Then crash, bang, a car load of noisy wolves appear and they want to party. They don’t care about waking Mr Bear. The party starts and they do wake Mr Bear with surprising results, but if that isn’t bad enough they also wake Mr Dormouse…oops, also not the result they were expecting.
This is just a wonderful, fun story. It is hard not to feel happy as you read it, the smile just appears. The illustrations are simple, colourful and beautifully convey the tone of the text as the animals go from lullaby to party to being told off. A good little read.
