Mind Your Gramma!

By: Yvonne Morrison and Nikki Slade Robinson

Gramma asks me about my day, and I say, ‘Me and my friend played soccer.’

She says ‘My friend and I played soccer.

I say ‘At your age?’

This excerpt is one of the easiest ways to describe this book. At it’s simplest it is a story of a young girl visiting her grandmother. Through the story Gramma corrects the child’s grammar and the child, in return, misunderstands everything.

This is a very funny little book that will appeal to young and old though probably on different levels. It may even do very well in a class room situation. The easy and fun text combined with the simple yet appealing illustrations, make this a wonderful way to introduce the idea of grammar to a young reader.
