Part of the Butterfly Meadow series
Twinkle and her friends are playing in Butterfly Meadow when Twinkle notices something isn’t right. The Butterflies discover Sting – a lost bumblebee who has been out on her first solo pollen gathering flight. She wanted to impress the Queen but flew so far and collected so much pollen she doesn’t know how to get back to the hive. The Butterflies don’t give up on problems easily, with some determination and creative thinking they figure out how to get Sting home.
The pretty butterfly covers are likely to appeal to young girls who are starting to gain confidence with their reading. The language is simple to understand, the chapters short and easily manageable and the black and white illustrations are quite cute. This is a story with a little adventure all about helping someone out. If you have like and have done the fairy thing you could quite easily move on to butterflies. Alternatively, if you have had enough of fairies but can’t get your young reader to pick up books too different then this series could be a place to start.
