Orientation at yet another school for Percy. He didn’t plan the chaos, he never does and he really didn’t want to blow up it up, but there aren’t a lot of options when the servants of Hecate attack. Though he wins, the victory leaves a warning running through his mind, ‘soon your pretty little camp in flames, your friends made slaves to the Lord of Time and there’s nothing you can do to stop it’.
Well Percy has been told he can’t do things before and that has never stopped him. Luke is still out there making trouble, looking for a way inside the camp via an ancient labyrinth. If the way is found and the camp breached, thousands of blood thirsty monsters will attack. This must not be allowed to happen. While this is all going on Grover has just one week to find Pan. ANd what is the story with Rachel – the mortal who can see through the mist?
Another action packed adventure full of all the things we’ve come to love about these books; plenty of action and plotting and a few surprises thrown in. These books continued to engage me as the series went on and I devoured them as soon as I got my hands on them. They are a great fun read, with characters it’s easy to attached to.
