City Of Glass

By: Cassandra Clare

War has a way of making old enemies friends, or more truthfully uneasy allies. The Shadow hunters are faced with a choice – stand alone and probably be wiped out or fight alongside vampires, werewolves and other Downworlders and possible survive. Valentine is raising an army to attack the City of Glass and Idris will never be the same. There are debts to be paid and sacrifices to be made and no-one really knows what Valentine is up to.

In the midst of all of this Clary and Jace have their own decision to make – stand back from each other or pursue the love they know is forbidden.

Choices made in the past are now coming home to roost. But there are still many secrets that have yet to be revealed. This war will shake foundations and things cannot stay the way they were. Everyone’s life will be changed.

Another layered tale from the dark realm created by Clare. I enjoy the interactions and tensions between the different races and the intrigues and faults of the characters. For me the best characters are the incredible supporting cast that makes Clary and Jace’s story possible, they anchor it and give it texture and depth.

These books may be more suited to older readers due to some of the sub-plots.
